No idea about the film, but it provides biographical setting for a couple of characters in a H P Lovecraft story, from The Call of Cthulhu, I think. Looks like I better re-read it some time soon.:)
Lovecraft uses the same fictitious places again and again in his works. I don’t know how many stories it figures into, but it’s really just the one film (or at least this one series of films).
